Frozen rain

Performance by Phụ Lục (Nguyễn Huy An, Hoàng Minh Đức, Vũ Đức Toàn)
2010
Nhà Sàn Studio, Hanoi, Vietnam

The following assumptions can be made:
  • A meeting in silence between a fisherman, a coal worker and the son of a tofu-shop owner (a man who has died in debt) on a riverside in the dry season.
  • Three dreams in one quiet convergence .
  • It is simply this: quiet - wet - frozen.

Implementation:
  • Vũ Đức Toàn: In a state of silence, against the column on the landing. His hands are tied behind the column. Holding one fish in his hands, he is soaking wet from head to toe.
  • Hoàng Minh Đức: In a state of silence, in the middle of the room. Standing submerged to his chest in a tank of solid tofu.
  • Nguyễn Huy An: In a state of silence,  in the corner of the room, sitting on a chair in a pool of peat, with two small pools of coal in his palms.

Expected duration: 90 minutes (Actual duration: 180 minutes)
Space: the entire second floor of Nha San Studio (starting from the stairs going up)
